How was your thanksgiving? Are you getting ready for Hanukkah, Christmas? Do you still believe in Santa?

I had a wonderful thanksgiving spent in Magnolia, Ms at an aunt and uncle's house in the woods, we had lots of food and lots of kids, in fact the kids got all muddy with that Ms red mud and had to hose each other off, oh and the highlite was the boy's peeing contest off the top balcony of my aunt's house.

My uncle said to my aunt "Did you tell them they could hold peeing contests off the balcony?"

She said "yeah, like 3 yrs ago!"

Anyway it was a little warm, about 65F and pretty humid with light drizzles but it was a lot of fun. Its always good to be with family.

Santa is coming soon, was thinking of spiking his cookies this yr, ya'll take care.

One of my other uncles wanted to participate in what may wind up being an annual event! The thanksgiving pee-off, but my aunt drew the line!

JP, oh this is funnneeee!!!  Boys and their toys, love to pee on anything that they can get their wee wees to point at.  Living in a place that has boys coming out our ears, I see these dudes peeing EVERYWHERE, why can't they behave......smiling.  Have that wonderful and awesome day.  Cindi

In Canada, we celebrated Thanksgiving on October 16.  Over a month before the American one, weird eh?

Another thing the boys just "had" to do was get this 80lb or so solid piece of concrete in the pond, it was their "project". They rolled this thing and tumbled it forever it seemed until they got it onto the walk about, then it was splat in the shallow water below.

Right after that was when the peeing contest ensued. Of course the girls did civilized things, like judge the peeing contest.

Thanks for the nostalgia JP. My Granny & Grandaddy's house during the holidays. The late 50's and 60's. Two story turn of the century old Fl. house, porch around east and south side.
Always there Thanksgiving and Christmas day. No balcony, so no peeing contests at the house (darnit, I might of won).

 Cindi, quit looking.

First you say

and the highlite was the boy's peeing contest off the top balcony of my aunt's house.

Then you say

Anyway it was a little warm, about 65F and pretty humid with light drizzles

Makes one wonder....

So anyway..... The day before Turkey day my son was sick. You know one of those short illnesses that dumps out both ends???  I was like. "Oh NO! I'll be sick tomorrow."  Sad Cause I always catch that if someone has it.

So just as we was getting ready to eat.... Just as it was announced that it was ready..... I got that awful feeling inside. I waited a bit to eat and then got about half a plate full. Yep! a little bit later it really hit. In fact today my ribs are hurting from the vomiting I did. They hurt when I cough or laugh. But at least it was over before bed time and the last couple of days have been great.

We made a big thing this year for Thanksgiving. But the kids, who somehow equate it to Easter and Christmas, were sad when there were no eggs to hide or presents to open....  grin

And of course like Jeerymac, I've had a chest cold, coughing, and what feels like a cord plugged into my back sapping all my energy for the past few days. Went to bed last night at 10pm and got out of bed at 9 this morning. And 5 hours is normal for me. And I still took a nap this afternoon.

Being the vegetarian, you all know, I made Tofurky for Thanksgiving for 15 people. It was great fun and we all ate way to much food.

Now I am waiting for my husband to return home from India and hopefully he will not be to mad at me for spending so much money on that new HD TV and Blue Ray player. (When the cats away the mice will play!!)

Hope you all had a very peaceful holiday weekend.

Tofurkey is an oxymoron.  It is for those people who insist they are vegetarians yet want to pretend they are eating something substanual.  Unless a person suffers from food allergies they shouldn't try to be so pretenious.
A big white slab of Tofu as Thanksgivings maincourse....Yummmmy!  Sorry I'll eat the real Turkey.

Annette,
Now how can I make comments about vegetarians, when I see your smiling face loking back at me...  grin  I know I've made recent comments about vegetarians, but I must say, it was not aimed at anyone in particular.

How can anyone not want a chunk of moo meat, or pork pickin's, or gobbler gravy?

OK. Surely someone can come up with some more.

JP, oh now didn't those guys work their butts off getting that cement slab into the water.  You have conjured up a very cool image in my mind's eye, dudes, rolling and pushing that great hunk o'cement, yeah!!!  Good for them, and then look at what they had to afterwards, pee on it, eeeks!!!  Smiling.

Bjornbee.  Oh don't worry about Annette, she is one tough cookie, and she doesn't care a whit if she gets any teasing about the vegetarian stuff, seriously, life is too short to worry about being teased; and she knows it...

Oh Annette, you a bad girl!!!  You played hard while your Husband was away, that is very obvious, looky at what you acquired -- two new toys, smiling.

Now Rast, when I see boys outside off in the wild blue yonder, with their backs turned to the human eyes, legs slightly apart, I know for surely what they are doin', and it isn't a good thing.  Usually I know for surely that they are peeing on something, and many a plant I have seen all withered up, smiling.  Boys and their toys.

Jerry, sorry that you got so sick, funny how these bugs run from one person to another so quickly.  Nasty stuff for sure.  Have a great day, great health.  Cindi

Yep, you can't trouble me about my being vegetarian. I just live and let live and everyone can do what they please and eat what they please and I don't mind. I have my own way which works for me and I accept what everyone does for themselves.

Have a great evening

annette, i always make the big purchases when my  husband is away.  it causes him less pain!  one year it was the dish system, one year a camper, once a horse.....anyway, he'll enjoy what you got and be secretly pleased that he didn't have to make the decision.

do it enough though, and you'll have to wait during future reunions while he inspects the property for new acquisitions  evil

Last year when he was gone, I went on a mini vacation and stayed in a fabulous Bed and Breafast for a couple of nights. Guess I just want to treat myself when he is away.   Now next year .....................Huh??

Glad to know Kathy that others have done this as well.
