E-mail from The Heritage Foundation

President-elect Obama’s advisers have indicated that his administration will impose startling and unprecedented regulations on the economy.

The Obama administration would act quickly to implement the Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed controls on carbon dioxide, which amount to a massive new energy tax. Why do they want to move so quickly? They say their rules are in response to the dangers posed by global warming.

But the truth is that these rules would hurt Americans by driving up gas prices, food prices, transportation costs, and the price of manufactured goods. This greatly outweighs the negligible benefits the regulations might provide the environment.

This intrusive regulation will cost the American economy nearly $7 trillion dollars in lost GDP in just 20 years, and result in massive job losses. Heritage’s respected Center for Data Analysis estimates non-farm employment losses will exceed 800,000 in some years, and manufacturing jobs will plummet. Some industries would lose over half of their jobs. (Some liberals claim that environmental legislation such as this could add “green” jobs, but these new jobs would be offset by larger losses elsewhere.)

Government permits would be needed to expand small businesses and build homes, hospitals and schools. To add insult to injury, foreign competitors will not have to abide by these regulations, leaving American businesses at a disadvantage.

In times of economic uncertainty, the last thing American workers, consumers, and families need is more tedious regulation and costly obstacles engineered to limit and tax American economic growth.

That’s why we need your help. Visit http://www.stopepa.com/ today to tell the bureaucrats at the EPA what you think about these disastrous regulations.

The EPA’s deadline for comments is November 28th, and your voice for economic freedom will make a real difference in this fight.

We appreciate your support for conservative ideas.

Sincerely,

Ed Feulner Signature

Do you think the Chinese, Indians, Russians etc give a tinkers cuss about global warming? For every measure we take to reduce it and for every cost we add to production, the lot above just laugh and end up more competitive.

The Indonesians burn more forest every day than anyone else apart from the Sth Americans. Both produce more greenhouse gasses than the rest of the world.

The climates changing, like it always has and always will do. Theres nothing we can do to stop it. 100 years of us reducing GHGs is knocked out by one volcano erupting.

Global warming is real, but the reasons for it are a con.

You are correct, its just more taxes, government departments, more rules. Pretty soon you will be handed a set of rules at birth, along with a statement of taxes that you will be expected to pay in your lifetime.

europe is already trying to back off of this.  it has hurt business.  china, india, etc. are already exempt from the Kyoto treaty that most signed because they are "developing nations".  these new international regs that are coming up will hurt 1st and 3rd world nations, but not those that are "developing".  thank god we had a few presidents smart enough not to go along with the kyoto crap.  looks like this one will jump on cap and trade, etc.

They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

Obama's action, by Presidential directive (that has the force of law0, will produce a situation that will cause our society to slow drastically and drop as the others rise.  When parity of societies are more equal there will be a move, via the UN, to create a one world government.
If the USA goes along it is believed the rest of the world will have to follow.
Obama was selected and financed to be elected just for this purpose...The unification of the world under a one world government.
Obama's actions, once he officially takes office will be to accelerate this process to the point of being irreversible.

There is a very good chance that when many American's realize what is really going on that there will be an armed revolt at which point the UN will be asked by our own President to invade and restore order (read that Marshall law).

That's my Prophecy, and I'm Sticking with it.

Brian I have been telling people that for some time. And most of them say I'm crazy and that it will never happen. I tell them go ahead put your head in the hole and every thing will be ok.

anything can be done with time and planning.  and a little revisionist history. people worship FDR, but don't remember that he was the father of big government social welfare programs.  both he a kennedy(s) tossed the constitution in the crapper.
kennedy, in todays would, would be considered a conservative.  he would not support obamas plans.  FDR probably would have.

every once in awhile, the stars align and big change comes.  this is one of those times.   the changes are almost always permanent, so i believe our country will never  be the same after this presidency.  it is unfortunate ...even though i am not into conspiracy theorys, this sure did happen in a strange way.
