That's a lovely design...and one you'll love forever.
However, to inject a word of realism, now that it's been about six weeks, go and have yourself tested for HIV and hepatitis. I don't care who did the tat, or where you had it done, this is something you absolutely HAVE to do for yourself any time you get a new tattoo.
And I still think it's a great tat.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'm okay though. They make you watch them open brand new needles each time they start. He changed latex gloves every 5 minutes or so too. Very clean and picky place. But you could never be too safe. I'm going to have surgery on both my hands in the next month or so and I think I'll let my doc know in case he thinks I should be tested. Sean Kelly

Lone, now that is a good question.....Sean? What's for your birthday. I am going soon to get an addition to the tat on my ankle. One of the most painful experiences of my life, must be a very sensitive area, almost couldn't let the dude finish Have that great, most awesome day, health, life. Cindi

Now I suppose you're going to claim to be the last Templar, showing the cross on your arm as proof?
That would be hard to do, as half the guys in my Commandery have the Templar cross tat on their left shoulder! (Not me - not yet -- not until they can tat without needles!)

I wonder could it be a new Tat for his Birthday ? Maybe a picture of a half dressed monk with a smoking stick in his hand and the phrase "To pass this test Grasshopper you must remove the queen bee without any other protection".

Very interesting thread – I didn’t know that so many would have tats, or approve.
Personally, I have always assumed that if my DNA had wanted me to have body markings it would have come programmed that way. Oops… looking frantically now …. balding, bulging, age spots… so why not a tattoo? Though I suppose I will wait until drunk and in the wrong place.

Beecanbee, I don't think many of us have such radical parents as Sean. So now that he is old and in his thirties, maybe they will give him an astronaut suit and a ticket to the moon or perhaps a trained dog to sniff out malaysian rafflesias or even a cargo barrier for his flying banjo beehive (I had to get a banjo in there again).

Cindi, those ankles are very sensitive, you will have to show a pic once you get the addition done. Top of the foot hurts like heck too! Only 6 more years till I get one for my 60th bday..wonder if I'll get a senior discount? Gotta think of a good one and find somewhere left on my body that isn't sagging or wrinkling! ugh! probably hafta quit after that one!
