Hmmm,....I believed it too.....But,Its such a relief that it wasnt you! Smiley Its kind of wierd to tell you this, But, with the pictures you post when we can see you, and your family, and your daughter, It makes me think of you as an "Angel". And, angels dont get tattoos( at least not that I know of.)It seems that you reflect some kind of...I dont know,....."Aura", maybe?...I get a feeling that you are very good at putting other people first. I think,if I were more like you, I would be a better person.
God is still working on me though!

Actually, I kind of do have a tat...During art class in high school, I was attempting to open a bottle of India ink...It was on very tight, and when it finally broke free, the cap cracked.  The sharp part cut my right hand thumb at the knuckle and tore the skin open...some of the India ink got in the cut!  Voile!  A tiny deep black tattoo!  Why I almost forgot!

Hello,

I don't think there has been nearly enough banjo talk in this topic recently.  I don't want to show you my new bush fretless banjo "The Croc" until a mate does the carving for the peghead, unless you've read the front page of our local paper of course.

The obvious advice for you Sean would be to get a banjo tattoo for your birthday, preferably a temporary one in case you wanted to upgrade to a Grundy.  What about an All American banjo inlay pattern tattoo? Banjos and tattoos certainly have a lot in common, or maybe just this one thing that I found...a bluegrass song about a tattoo  http://cdbaby.com/cd/southernrail

There's only 2 and a bit weeks to go, so I don't know what we're going to type about after your birthday.  Whatever you do...make sure it's not something you regret! (like a cheap tattoo with no tonering and an aluminium pot)...

Glad to be able to help.

Lone

Lone, OK, I for one can't wait to see a picture of that new banjo that will be soon finished carving, wonderful.  Have a great and beautiful day, great health.  Cindi

Eeew gosh, aluminum pot and no tone ring?  Might as well strap strings across a garbage can!  lol.

I'm hoping this thread goes on forever, I'm getting a real kick out of it!

My birthday was 5 days ago and it was wonderful.  Went to dinner with my wife and 2 daughters, my parents, both my sisters, my good friend and sister's boyfriend Travis, Grandparents, Great Aunt Maria, and my best buddy Nate and his wife and 4 kids!  Had a blast at a gourmet pizza place called The Rock.

My grandpa gave me several bottles of his home made mead which is incredible (I'm drinking a glass now)!!!  He also surprised me and gave me his prized .54 caliber Hawken muzzle loader riffle which is a family heirloom.  (now I have a black powder riffle from both my grandfathers, the other gave me a flintlock .45 cal Pennsylvania long riffle several years ago)
My wife gave me a desk from Cabelas to hide all my fly tying equipment.  My sister Sarah and Travis gave me the book, "Compleat Mead Maker" which I've been drooling over for a long time.
And of course my parents are giving me a tattoo which is still scheduled for the 16th of December.  The count down begins and I'm getting nervous.  I'm very happy with my tattoo choice and feel that it will be something I will love for the rest of my life.  I figure my faith or heritage wont change, so a celtic cross will be a perfect choice.

I love that this thread has also included banjos!  Someday, if I'm brave to do it again, I might get a banjo related tattoo.  Maybe I should get a honeybee picking a banjo?  That would be pretty cool, right?

Blessings,

Sean Kelly

It would also make a great label for a beekeepers product.

Sean, You will have to post a pic, have your Mom make a video of you squirming!  heh heh evil  It really hurts while they are doing it, that white hot kind of burn like on the woodstove.. Undecided  But once the pen stops so does the pain, it's off & on. The worst is the wiping..tattoo, then wipe..tattoo then wipe..after a bit you would rather have the pen!  I have 2 so I know how addicting they are! rolleyes  J
