Breast Cancer 3 Day Walk is This Week - Think Supportive Thoughts!

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I will be walking in the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day walk - a 60 mile walk - 20 miles a day.  I'm walking because I'm lucky to be a healthy person, but I know many people with breast cancer and other cancers.  I have three daughters and want their lives to be breast cancer free as well.

So please think cheerful thoughts for me starting on Friday when I walk the first 20 mile day!

Please wish for good weather for this - it's supposed to rain the first day and be chillier than usual in Atlanta this time of year.

Linda, that is a lot of walking, you will be called "that walkin' girl".  Seriously, that is a wonderful thing to do, your actions will make a difference.  I will think of you every day this three days, there are so many wonderful things that we do for causes, and this is something most admirable, take care, keep yourself warm, and you go, girl!!!  Have a great and most awesome day, Cindi

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that I lived through the 60 mile walk - I am exhausted with blisters, but happy to have walked every step.  It poured rain and was very cold on Friday all day and all night.  Then on Saturday night the temps went down to 42 degrees (we were sleeping in tents in a field). 

But it was an amazing experience, I made it, and am here to tell the tale.  BTW, the Breast Cancer Walk in Atlanta raised 8.3 million dollars this weekend.  To participate everyone had to raise $2200 - I raised $4670, so I feel good both about the financial and physical contribution....

That said, I believe I am done with endurance walks!!!!  Now, off to bed.
