I've decided to take a computer graphic design class at the local technical college.  I've talked to them a few times, then went down to sign on the dotted line.  When I get there they tell me I need to take a  2 part entrance exam, reading comprehension and math (10th grade level).  Declined the study guide and went straight for the test.  Passed the reading with college compentency.  The math, not my best subject, unfortunately wasn't as good.  I didn't answer 2 questions on multiplying fractions and dividing fractions.  You could miss 6, I missed 8.  I was embarrassed, embarassed my kids loved it grin.  So I did a quick read of the study guide on multiplying and dividing fractions and immediately took the test again. And this time I checked my work.  Missed 1 cheesy.  Now that I've written a book I can get to the point, aside from 1 basic algebra question (3n+1=7) it all was grade school math and they're calling it 10th grade math!!   No wonder our kids can't compete on the world stage in math.  We're not requiring anything of them.  Sad Sad Sad
