As I go about reading different post in different forums today, there are some that show up as being read, as in the color on the bell or what ever that is, is gone. The arrow indicating a new post has been placed on a topic is gone. But there are a couple of topics that keeps the arrow and the whole forum the topic is in shows it unread. What is it? Anybody else noticing this?

I usually don't even pay attention to all that stuff. I just sign in and click on view posts since last visit, read all the new ones, then log out again. I don't know, it works for me!

Jerry:
'm using Desert Storm and don't have that problem - I get the darkened indicator when a new post has been made. Even if I didn't, I don't know how I could correct the problem.
But as Jay mentioned, I too click on the READ POSTS SINCE LAST VISIT whenever I come into the forum - it saves a lot of clicking and searching.

I'm using desert storm also. This only started this morning and it only does it on some of the topics. Sometimes when I'm going to read a post I also want to go back to another topic and reread something or make some wise..... Errr off the walll comment.
I can go down and hit the show as read button. That clears it. It's just wierd, if it happened on all the post I would blame my computer but it only does it on a few.

Jerrymac,
Sometimes deleting your beemaster cookie off your hard drive, (making sure you are not logged on to this website). Then logging in again and checking the "remember me" tick box sorts out these problems. I'm not sure what it is about php forums but sometimes they seem to get a bit lost.
I've found deleting the cookie, and letting it create a fresh one often helps.

Any topic started yesterday or today are the ones doing this. If someone post to a topic started before yesterday it shows to be read when I visit and leave. So perhaps it could be the cookie thing. I was even wondering yesterday if some hoe it had gotten turned off or something. I'll see whay I can do about cookies as I am computer stupid.

Just a thought
If I click on view posts since last visit, it will show ones I have already read if they are showing unread won't they? I will try that later today.

Was that nothing??? Oh never mind.
The one thing that had happened was my grandson toddled in here and shut the computer down. Does that ring bells for anyone?
