thats what i do when i pull honey after july around here -the exposed honey makes the bees go frenzy -and the suppers in the back of the truck are fair game -pull all the lids from every hive in the yard and the bees are inclined to stay with there own hive and guard it from competing bees-makes a world of difference

we put the lids back on the hives when we leave the yard -one hour -one afternoon -they stay off till the honey is pulled -RDY-B
