I would love to do that Dallas but my wife had surgery Thursday and I need to be with her and the three dogs.

It is not looking good for us, we will be on the east side of the storm if it hits where predicted, and this is the worst possible scenario as for as rainfall, flooding and tidal surge go.

I may post one more time before we split, as we are preparing to go within the next few hrs or so.

We will be out of harm's way at our property.

Thanks again for the support!

Thanks Jody, yes, it is very stressful, but we are very relieved we have a place to go to, we can thank Katrina for this.

My wife is doing ok, she is healing up nicely, thanks for thinking of her.

It's 11:35am here right now, we will try to leave by 1-1:30pm CST.

I will post right before we leave.

Thanks everyone for thinking of us, if you don't mind, prayers, positive energy, whatever you can muster up will be of big help.

Ok, my fellow beeks, this will be my last post until things get back to normal. I may not be on here for a while if things get really sour, in fact I'm gonna disconnect the computer after this post.

Want to say, Brian hope all of you have a wonderful time at the big shindig!!!

Cindi, don't let them eat all of the duck, ok? (secretly evacuating to Cindi's to get some of those muscovys  grin)

Thanks again for all the support, hope to see all of you real soon!!!

I played tour guide today, having fun.  Maybe Cindi will post some of her pics.

I don't know if I'd prefer Florida over New Orleans, one place you have to go uphill to find the river and in the other you have to wade through acres of swamp to find a piece of dry land.  Both are too close to really wet weather for my liking.

Gee whiz Brian, I thought Anacortes was in Washington state where there are a few drops of water more than a boatload falling occasionally. grin

JP, coming in late on this post.  I now hear that things are OK, as Dallas told us in that post, yeah!!!!  Thanking my lucky stars for you.  I hope that your dear Wife continues with her great recovery from surgery, that is a remarkable thing that she kept the date with that nasty storm that came your way.  Speak to us as soon as you possibly can, I can be that you will have some stories to tell, our thoughts were and are with you, you know that, your forum friends.  Most wonderful and awesome day, many more to come.  Cindi

That's what we tell everybody, but they come anyway, find out what it's really like around here, and move in.  Washington State is one of the Fastest growing states, population wise, in the USA.

BTW, There really are places in Washington where they've recorded rainfall for 366 days in a year's time.   Nearly 100 inches all together.  We get rain, often, just not all at once.  30 inches of rain per year in small doses of .1-3 inches is nothing.  Now I've been places where it's rained 40 inches in a week (Tropics)....rained everyday, 12 hours apart, for a hour each time...6 inches of rain in an hour is a gully washer.

Brian, there's a place very close to my parents' house (on the Olympic pennensula of Washington) that get's over 200" of rainfall per year.  Yet my parents' house gets only about 15" per year... what a difference!

Well, the wife and our three dogs are back home and safe, wanna say thanks for all of your support.

We dodged a few tornados in Ms where we evacuated to and our home in Metairie as far as I can tell is ok, we just got in about 45 minutes ago, so I'll be checking things out in daylite tomorrow.

Wanna say thanks to Brendhan, Dallas, Bud, Scott Derrick and CD for checking on me, it was really nice to hear familiar voices and one I hadn't talked to by phone which was a delightful surprise, courtesy of Brendhan, and that was our very own Cindi, yep!!

Can't wait to see the posts and pics of the big shindig at Brian's, Brendhan said a good time was had by all and when he called he said he and his wife were heading to Vancouver to visit Cindi and her old man, who Brendhan said BTW was a trip and a half, anyway...

Brendhan said he would call me when he got to Cindi's and he kept his promise, Cindi, let me say it was great to hear your voice.

Well forum friends, just wanted to post in, its been a long 6 days for the wife and I and our three dogs in our little cabin in the middle of the woods in Ms, using a generator for power and dodging tornados!!!

I wanna know about the secret cabin!
Does it have a fallout shelter?
Do you have a year supply of food and water?
 Got any pictures?

Anyways, good to see you made it back and your house is ok!
Prayers are a good thing, huh?

Your friend,
john
