Holly cow, that looks like a gully washer!  I once had to ride my motorcycle through some of that heavy Texas rain from Amarillo all the way to Wichita Falls, but it wasn't that bad.  I hope your hive stands were high enough to keep their feet dry.

Oh my! Are your girls up high enough to be safe from that? Are YOU up high enough to be safe from that?!

Of course, you do inspect your hives naked - maybe you don't worry about safety.... Wink

Seriously, I am sorry to see you have all that water. Hope it doesn't end up doing any damage.

Oh, we did pretty good all things considered!
The hives could have taken another 10 inches till they floated away.I'm in a manufactured home(Trailor house) so its on blocks which was a good thing...If I lived in a real house I woulda been in trouble Undecided
Hey JP!..Good eyes!! The easter bunny makes an appearance every few days or so at my house. I recognize him but to the untrained eye most people think its me!
Safety??? I leave that word at my "Paying" job! grin...At home, the words  are "Comfort", and "Luck"!....and sometimes ....."OUCH"!

John, so glad you got those pictures in for us to see.  I liked the one with the basket you were carrying, and oh by the way, nice tatts!!!  Your dog looked like it was gonna roll in something there, probably something left behind after the flooding, carrion of some sort I would imagine, they like that perfume, hee, hee!!!  What caused all the water to come to your place anyways, did I miss something here?  Have a most wonderful and awesome day, Cindi

Cindi,
We had 12 inches of rain fall on Monday nite! Thats the most rain at one time I have ever seen down here since I moved here('72). No doubt we needed it!
It piled up so fast and it went down just as fast. My creek isnt even running anymore. I just found out this morning that I had a freezer and fridge crap out on me cuzza the water in my shop. I got the freezer running but the fridge is toast! We didnt lose anything(food) though as Janelle noticed this just in time, The fridge only had beer and mead in it and what was in the top fit into the chest freezer....I went to sams awhile ago and bought a new freezer(deep) just in case. We've been thinking of doing this anyway recently. Janelle has an extra job now where she gets free chicken and turkey instead of money.
Guess what I had for supper last nite?....And the nite before,.....And tonite.....And tomorrow!....Thats right!....CHICKEN!!!. I dont mind tho..It still tastes good!!

Here's another for u John, one, I use on Cindi's (that's Cindy with an i on the end) aka Rock Woman, ducks.

I get this oriental roast duck seasoning that is just totally killer, comes in a packet, you put the fowl in a roasting bag with at least a 1/2 stick of butter, a little flower to coat the bag with, mix the seasoning with a little water, add a ton of onions, bake at 375 until tender, then get ready ta slap ya momma, real hard!!!

Hey Cindi!
Are you "Cremating" those chickens or cookin' 'em?
My propane cooker does the same thing when drippins' build up! It looks a little like yours!
You know what?...The more I look at that picture, the more those chickens look like fat naked people looking into a fire! grin
I've done beer can chickens before and they are GOOD!
My biggest problem is having to drink the beer first to use the can....All the cans will only fit into a big turkey and thats only if I crush them first! I can get 12 into one turkey! grin
Oriental roast duck seasoning 'eh? I'll write that down.
Janelles been getting a red looking stuff what tastes pretty good too!(marinade) I'll put honey on it and then its unbeatable!

Heck yeah, just look at my previous post a few posts up, use the roasting bag, lots of onions, at least a 1/2 stick of butter, add a lil more water than the package suggests.

Depending on how much chicken you're cooking you may want to use more than one packet, for two game hens (cornish hens) I use two packets.

Now the wonderful thing about this recipe is that once its done serve it in a big bowl with the onions and sauce and all, you can dip some bread in the sauce as Bud would say, for sopping up all that fine sauce!!

Weird you're using the same thing exactly now, but good for you, the stuff is swwwwwwweeeeet!!!

Bon apetit!!!
