Yes, cool water rather than cold,"ice" water.
As for salt tab's, I would not recomend for just anyone.
As always check with your doctor.
I used buffered salt tab's once under controlled conditions.
Although if a person doesn't exert under extreme conditions, then I would think salt tabs of any kind are not necessary.
Daily intake from food with a little table salt for seasoning should do the trick.
Of course, you can, as always, get a second opinion.
