Hi All:

Beth brought up about about Geocaching and GPS related links came to mind - I mentioned my favorite website of all time http://www.confluence.org which is a 5 star website that has brought me YEARS of learning about the unique challenges of the globe and the images and stories are teriffic. If you are into GPSing or even into travelogs, you will love that site.

So, what is your favorite website??? Please don't mention Beemaster.com although I'm sure it's true  shocked  rolleyes  wink  But, what other site really blows you away and why?

The shear work involved from the admin at http://www.confluence.org/ blows me away and the massive undertaking of the participants of the site is incredible.

Please note: some pop-up eliminators may prevent the images on the first page from showing up, so you might have to turn it off.

I will never forget a trip into Canada (western side just above the US border) where 2 guys spent 3 days trying to get to a confluence (where longitude and latitude points interset) they could see the location from a major highway, but 3 days later they STILL hadn't completed the search - they backpacked, canoed and trekked breath-taking scenery and found a waterfall that may have never been seen by humans before - serious Lewis and Clark stuff.

That is why I love Confluence Degree Project - there is no other site like it and I know that you will love it if you are at all interested in adventuring.

again... WHAT is your favorite site (or sites) and why. I'm hoping we build a collection of OUTSTANDING and remarkable websites that the members here can share and follow along in the coffeehouse.

Sorry, that is the truth, I guess that  the discovery channels web site is the second best, it covers all of the channels they own like the travel channel and history channel, that sort of stuff. So I guess www.Discovery.com. bye

Sorry John.... I have to agree with Ryan. There are two sites I open nearly every day - yahoo to check for mail, and your site (the forum).

John.... your "humble" heart is just gonna have to deal with it. I love this forum, the people, the posts, all of it. I have NO other sites that I visit every day or places I've stayed for so long. Get over it! Smiley

Oh Alright. If everybody else is gonna mutiny, it is this place. I really don't browse the net much and when I do it's just to look up something and then I'm gone. I might not ever get back to that place. I do lurk the beesource BBS at times, but I don't feel they are the same brance of people. I probably wouldn't fit in well. Then I do check out supplier pages. But if any one notices I'll be on this page and walk off leaving it here. I may not be at the computer but I'm pretty much always logged on here.

I'll admit, I check the forum about 10 times a day myself - so I know what you mean. But I do venture beyond the horizon - lol. I make very good use of high-speed cable, I download tons of stuff, do a lot of broadband video watching too - otherwise, I might as well have dialup.

Thanks for the kind words, but I do hope everyone gets a chance to check out the rest of the net... It's really big out there, I swear  Cheesy

No John! No!

Don't make me do it!

It's too scawy out there. It's a big world wide web, and I might get wost!  cry  (sniff sniff)

John..... I've been there, done that Smiley. I still do searches about whatever catches my fancy - chickens, goats, squirrel care, bible studies, bible history...... but they are fleeting moments. They mean nothing to me! I was only looking! I will never leave you! (Or should I say - you'll never be able to get rid of me? LOL)

I mean, goodness gracious John. Look at my AVATAR! Do I really look like the brave soul that would dare to leave this place. My little pooh bear has his face in the honey jar for a reason, and it's not to eat the honey! He's seen just a little too much of the internet for his taste, and is not only hidding, but is content to just enjoy the pleasures of bees and the honey.

(Seriously, I do searches, and save a thousand and one sites. But do I go back again? Rarely.)

I'm happy here. (twitch twitch) I like the forum. (jerk jerk) I'm not safe anywhere else.

Except for beemaster.com I have two non-norwegian pages I visit daily:

http://slashdot.org">slashdot.org which keeps me updated on technical and geek stuff, and
http://userfriendly.org">userfriendly.org which is a funny computer geek comic strip

And I could mention som other fun sites:
http://www.spynumbers.com/">Spynumbers - If you like strange secret stuff
http://sweetmarias.com/">sweet maria's  - about home coffee roasting
http://www.intuitor.com/moviephysics/">insultingly stupid movie physics - even if you don't like physics you can learn about common hopeless mistakes like that falling cars always explodes. They also review movies
http://makesnow0.tripod.com/build.html">How to build a snowgun - missing some snow?
http://www.bl.uk/treasures/gutenberg/homepage.html">Gutenbergs bible - The site has scanned high resolution images of all the pages of a gutenberg bible (the first printed book).
http://www.archive.org/">Internet archive - Huge free archive of text, images, video and audio
http://www.gutenberg.org/">Project Gutenberg - 13000 free ebooks online
