ALL MOVED IN TO THE NEW HOME
« on: July 09, 2008, 06:12:18 PM »
Hi Everyone:

Just yesterday we got the Central Air running in our new home, the place is really nice and we are adjusting well to the new place. I'm going to be adding photos very soon, the living room is a full couch and a chair and a half forming an "L" with walk around space on both sides of the chair - and it centers on my Phillips 47 inch LCD HDTV.

Now I need to juice up the sound system and the theaters open :) Comcast's HD programming is lacking, can't wait to get Fios in the area (only 6 miles out from me they are installing now) and then switch, had enough of Comcast here.

We also got our master bedroom furniture, all oak - huge dresser with mirror, endtables, queensized bed - with a Temper-pedic matress that cost over $3K alone, which was more that solid and beatiful bedroom and dining room set - wow! But it is a GREAT NIGHTS SLEEP, been using it 4 nights now.

So we have 4 bedrooms, the fourth on the lower floor (it is a bi-level, upper and lower floor, no basement) but the smaller upper floor bedroom is the COMPUTER ROOM equiped with Day-Bed for company or a quick nap.

We also put in all new wall to wall on the upper level, so as you can tell, we have been soooo busy, just bought a self propelled mower today and did the grass for the second time there. My neighbors (all in the 70s-80s)  are working on their yards every day, cutting it 2 times a week - of course their's is a spectacular lawn, I only hope that mine looks like that after a few years of treating and filling it in.

Hope to have photos soon, I still haven't taken any - but we are painting rooms at our leisure, I'm good with a brush roller and trim-tape, we'll be fine.

My desktop is still packed away, needed the room for transitional stuff until I could get to the layout. Been painting closet doors, even shaving 3/8ths off some doors because of the new carpet.

The neatest thing is sitting on the couch or chair in the living room - a huge 100fter tree comes up right in front of the window and since you are up a ways, it looks like you are in a tree house from that view. Really cool.

Hang on for pics, I thing it is orderly enough now to show everyone.

More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

I'll bet it gets even more cool when the birds get used to you being there and hang out in the tree on your level.

PS - Comcast needs a complete change in management (upper and middle levels) for sure.
