Blackberry Bush Transplanting

I have a good bit of wild blackberry bushes on my property.  About 50% of them are in areas that are in tough to reach areas.  I think it is possible to take a piece of the root or sprig from the bush and grow it out in a new location which I can manage a little better.  Does anyone know how it's done?

if you can find smaller size plants amongst the wild ones you could easily dig them up and then replant them. i would do so in the evening and then water them in good and water every day for the first week.

Blackberries are very forgiving...I have had them start in the burn pile from whacking stems & not getting to the burning part for a few weeks!  Best thing is that there are plenty!  One easy way is to bury a newer branch in the dirt, it will make roots where the leaves attatch to the stem..maybe pull off a couple of leaves, sprinkle some rootone & abra-cadabra there you go!

 Recently, I dug up 2 small plants...They looked really bad after about a week and one of them looked dead, but I went ahead and watered them and now I have two plants that look better than store bought! ....I really need to plant them in the ground soon I suppose!

Blackberries tip root.  If you bend the tips down to the ground and pile some soil on them, you'll be able to produce as many plants as you want within a few days.
