And the Band of Brothers lives on!
This Christmas morning as I go into work at 7am I feel blessed to work for the US Armed Forces. I'll bring the men at the gate coffee and donuts and thank them once again for serving our country - it's not much, actually in the grand scheme of things, it's nothing. But whether 10 thousand miles from home or a mile from my home, the people who guard and protect our country need some recognition and to them, even a little gift is a wonderous thing.
Don't lose the big picture, because of the little ones. Nothing is more important than life and the celebration of it. God, Family and Country (in any order you chose) is what drives civilized man and this Christmas, I pray for all our troops and their families, and I recognize them and thank them nearly every day as I meet them in my job. The humble and off-guard smile you get from a sailor when you simply say "thank you" speaks for itself. There are no greater words that I can say to them - and none better received.
To Sgt. Tom, the HERO of many here in the Forum - A safe voyage, a speedy trip home and thank you for serving our country. God Bless you the heroes!
