w00t! I did my one week bee check, and I only pulled out 2 frames just to see how they were doing. Well one was half full of nice firm natural comb.
Another was about 1/4 full, except it was really soft (almost jello like) I'm assuming it was really fresh and just hadn't hardened up yet? Thankfully I was being super careful so nothing fell off.
But yay! I am so proud of my bees! I didn't know what to expect at a one week check, it appears they have been hard at work!

Isn't it just so beautiful how that white clean comb looks? I also checked on my new package this weekend and saw the same thing. Nothing better than letting them make their own comb. So natural.
Glad you are having fun with this.
Take Care

Hey that's great! i chickened out with doing foundation less, and went with small cell foundation instead. My bees are hard at work, and seem to be adapting to the small cell very well. They do, however seem to be very proficient at building burr comb which is giving me grief.
Glad to hear all is going well.

The bees will build burr comb anyhow. But they have to have somewhere to raise drone brood.
