bees in a tree
«

I went to my friends house where he had told me there was a bee hive in a tree
his wife wants out.Dead or alive,he would prefer alive.
The bees are in a tree about 70' high 2' in diameter with an opening about 3'
off the ground.
The bees are entering the tree through a hole about 8" long and around 1"
at the widest.
Anyone with a plan of attach to extract these bees
His wife wants the gone fast and the tree cant come down
Thanks for any help

You could try building a long wire cage with the opening big enough to fit over the mouth of the hive. Tack it on and start smoking the hive. i have done it a couple times with bees in a tree and one hive that was living in a metal column. You need to ensure that they dont have another entrance though.
was doing one oace a smokingthe hive like crazy when i noticed that after the initial couple dozen bees i wasnt seeing anymore. I sealed the entrance and was walking away when i glanced higher up in to the tree. There was the swarm of bees a couple feet higher in the tree
