I don't know, that white sauce scares me a bit, I like butter and I like olive oil, love sea salt, hot sauce, and I like that bragg's stuff too.

I'm gonna have to think about that sauce some more, don't wanna get nightmares ya know.

...JP :-D

Better to stay away from it for now. Maybe next year you can start to think about it.

MMMMnnnnmmm, white sauce!!  :-D  I make it also.  It's good with cheddar cheese then put eggs in & bake!  You can also add parmasan or probably any other type cheese, most herbs, GARLIC , onions..it's a very useful thing to know!  Think I'm gonna make some w/terragon for my green beans tonight! Jody

I'm coming on over!!!!

Ok, this isn't to be confused with white gravy is it? Like they put on biscuits.

it's about the same,  jp.   white gravy is usually thicker (and lumpy :-)), and often made with meat fat...baccon, or whatever.  it's also usually seasoned with black pepper and a little garlic.

Never did like biscuits and white gravy, more of a dark gravy fan myself, like on mashed potatoes.

JP, dark gravy, (Muscovy duck gravy to be exact, hee, hee), mashed potatoes, turnips mashed with carrot, steamed cabbage with white sauce, peas with that white sauce, a green salad, the dressing Miracle Whip, gravy on the Miracle Whip salad (yes, gravey on salad made with Miracle whip is a treat within itself, always ensure there is a salad with that dressing when we have dark gravy, like roast beef dinner, sounds horrible, but it is a wonderful thing to eat), oh so yummy.

The white sauce, in my mind's eye, is nothing like the white gravy that you speak about, different ingredients, I don't like white gravy personally, it is not esthetically pleasing to myself.  OK, I am now drooling for dinner again and it is 7:30 A.M.  Bad.

Have that most beautiful and wonderful day, we have a great life to live, love and share.  Cindi

Somehow the foods presently mentioned do not sound too healthy, but they sure sound tasty.

Hey Annette, I think its all good as long as you don't overdo it on too much of the wrong stuff, like I was doing.

Also, if you're active you can get away with eating more junk. Some people have the mindset to eat whatever then work it off with lots of exercise, that just ain't me, but to each his own.

BTW, I always did get a kick outta those that eat 10 pieces of fried chicken with french fries for example but will drink a diet coke with that same meal, like that diet drink is gonna make any difference after all that grease!

Some people actually do like the taste of diet drinks... I'm just not one of them.  Certain ones I like because I can't tell the difference between the diet and regular, but whenever I can taste a difference, my preference is always on the real thing.

yes, you can BBQ veggies.  i like to squeeze some lemon on them and some pepper & garlic salt.  spray the foil with some non-stick pan spray 1st.  you can also cook corn on the cob in the leaves.  it's best done in the coals from a camp fire, but you can do it on the BBQ also.

That would work, but it would end up mushy. Better to slice them and then smear them with some sort of BBQ sauce and place right on the grill.

I kinda like my eggplant mushy, I think I'll douse them first with olive oil so they won't dry out and put a little BBQ on.

I like this brand from Austin's get it from whole foods.

Good, grilled asparagus.  Every year we do that, but this year, only two meals from our patch.  Usually we have upwards to about 20 meals, but the asparagus just did not send out enough shoots to harvest very much at all.  First year in about 15 that we didn't get sick of asparagus, hee, hee.  Beautiful day, and have that great life.  Cindi
