Still eating healthier, feeling better, more energetic, enjoying this life that we live!!
heh - I think Cindi has that last bit ~> © ;)
Whew, where to begin.... I guess the search for a proper diet is a lot like the search for truth, a very personal journey. We each need to learn and decide for ourselves. That being said I would submit there's a lot of myths around what is healthy and what is not. I think there is a proper consensus that processed foods are bad, refined sugars, etc.,. One myth example is there was a big propaganda campaign against coconut oil which, when raw, is one of the healthiest things - as are most fats really. Fats = energy when in their raw, pure form. Cook the finest olive oil though and it will become indigestible and clog you up.
Soy being healthy is another myth
. As is vegetarianism
I tried a lot of things with various diets (soy and vegan included). I found my best successes started with getting rid of the processed foods, refined sugars and especially grains
. Grains are just starches that turn into sugars when digested. From there I went to a 100% raw, enzyme-centric, paleolithic diet. Only raw, organic foods in their natural form. Meats & dairy from animals that are either wild game or live as naturally as possible (e.g. grass-fed bison, raw goat milk from a local farm, etc.,) - not from "the Meatrix"
, sprouted nuts (nuts have enzyme inhibitors), probiotics (fermented, cultured foods like yogurt, kefir, kombucha, etc.,), fresh veggie juices (all the vitamins w/o the indigestible cellulose "fiber"), loads of raw fats (raw cheese & butter, coconut, etc.,). The only legumes I eat are some cacao (raw) in desserts. Bean protein is not for me
I haven't eaten anything cooked in 5 years now and, more than just dropping to my high-school weight, I'm really thriving
. 40 years old and in the best health since being an adolescent! lol
I'll leave it there but could share my "raw food manifesto" if you're not sufficiently annoyed w/me yet. :-X
Best of health to you!!
