Annette, I'm glad you stopped in. You know, part of the reason, ok, a big part of why I posted this topic was a selfish one, but that's not always a bad thing, now is it? Some people think the word "selfish' is an inherently bad word, but we have to admit, sometimes we can and need to be more selfish, giving to ourselves.
So, I had this thought that we could all talk about eating better, planning better, making better choices, and in the mean time, use our fellow forum friends to lean on if you will, as motivation to do better.
Plus, when things are in the open, we now are accountable. So, I have pulled you all into my world, to use you, my fellow forum friends, to better myself. You have been my puppets!!!!!

You do realize I'm being extremely sarcastic right?

But...
I would like to thank all of you for participating and just to let you know, I have been eating better and feeling better, and I hope we can all do the same!
The benefits so far: I can see my feet again! I have more energy! I wake up earlier, because I go to bed earlier. My diet needs are being met and I am plain feeling better, even happier.
In a nutshell, the thing to do is to "eat to live" and not "live to eat"
right now though, I look forward to my meals and am in the first category still, but we all have our vices, so living to eat, if its healthy for ya, is a vice I don't mind harboring, I'll pass on the crack, thank you.
Things I've been eating: fresh carrot juice, lots of salads (mixed greens, tomatoes, red onion, feta cheese, cucumbers, etc... ginger dressing is my fav) have layed off the fatty meats considerably, boca burgers, dressed, had a veggie burrito last nite, usually oatmeal for breakfast, with agave syrup or honey, sometimes with pollen.
I keep mixed nuts with me and some healthy bars.
Drinking: young coconut juice, water w/ lemon, lime soda w/ kombucha w/agave syrup, and some fruit flavored non-carbonated beverages.
Tonite I will have a broiled chuck eye round steak with brussel sprouts and fresh carrot juice, I make myself.
Did I say I'm a freak for fordhook lima beans? Well I am.
