Hey Fellers,

Fast food?  hhhhmmm We have a Semi- fast food restaurant here that used to be called "McDharma's".  A local small "Mom & Pop" vegetarian/vegan place...McDonald's had a fit and they had to change their name to 'Dharma's...best Kitchari in town!

I just love kitchari, very pure and simple food.

How long had they been in business before McD's threw a hissy-fit?  If it was more than 10 years they should have made McD's pay them good money to change their name.  If the owner's real name is McDharma, they could have also done that.

Ken, I just now saw your post and as Cindi (that's Cindy with an i on the end  grin) would say, that was a hoot and a holler!!!

Sad but true, man I wish I could still just eat what I want to but well, when the dern body ages and metabolism ain't what it used to be...

Update, still no fried food really to speak of except for some chicken livers I had from Piccadilly about 2 weeks ago, had to have 'em, mmm they were good, no more soft drinks, vitamin water, water and coconut juice.

Anyway, I wanted to post a link to a site I picked up from Dane: http://www.mercola.com/

I get this guy's e-mails like everyday, he's quite the health guru, and will admit some of his stuff seems extreme, but good information nonetheless for people trying to eat healthier.

Ya'll have a good one!

I can tie my shoes alot easier!
I know I can keep losing weight but I've been up and down so many stinkin' times it makes me mad! angry...And those muffins Janelle brings home are constantly calling out my name!!...She's bad...she keeps bringing home the free food. A few years ago I'd a been eating it all away but now we have 34 freezers full of turkey and chicken!!...I've really cut way back on red meat. But, see??? just talkin' about food is making me want to graze!!!

This thread made me think back about 50 years.  My mentor used to blend a concoction that he ate every morning for breakfast.  Then one day he went back east (Chiicago) to visit his daughter, she didn't have his breakfast mix and he caught pneumonia and died at the age of 92.

Mr. Girsch's Breakfast spread:

1. Pint of local honey.
2. 16 ounce jar of peanut, almond, or pecan butter (old fashion style is best).
3. 1 cup raisins.

Combine ingredients and mix well.  Store at room temperature.

Makes about 1 quart.

This goes well on bread, toast, pancakes, waffles, bagles, etc.  Spreads just like jam and is practically a complete meal having most required vitamins, etc.  He topped it all off with a buttermilk chaser.

Maybe jelly role model!

John, I'm not doing too bad...  yet. grin

Hey Irwin, that sounds like a good breakfast. When I was in 8th grade my class took a trip somewhere I have no clue where but at some magnificent house on the water.

It was a weekend retreat and we were granted blueberry, banana, pecan pancakes for breakfast, I remeber them as if it were yesterday and that was 30 yrs ago!!!

Brian, I have heard of others that when grew older stuck to a very specific diet, my aunt's husband (uncle by marriage) grandfather was like this and lived to 100.

Ok, John, those little halloween triangle things, I thought you were talking about caramel corn as in caramel covered pop corn.
