YellowBelly Bee-Eater

A bunch of these brightly colored birds have recently visited my apiary. It's getting crowded with birds actually.
These one's are cute though - sorry for the poor quality pictures. I've no telephoto lens, these birds are shy and this is as close as I could get:
Also, here's a dessert pic we made today: honey & coconut-cream glazed, raw carrot (w/date, walnut, pineapple & coconut) "bee-hive" cake.
Cheers,
Dane

Dane, beautiful shots of the bird. And now you bad!!! How could you even think of putting such an ugly picture of such a bad dessert!!! Kidding, I am sitting here drooling, looking at that dessert, oh brother, creativity shines through!!! Yeah!!! Beautiful and wonderful day, awesome life. Cindi

I like doing cut-outs, but I love catching swarms!

Maybe post the recipe for the rest of us who can't make it to Brian's? Although I'd like to see the west coast, with gas prices I don't see that happening any time soon.

lovelyembalmer ~> I'll get the precise recipe from Mrs. Bramage & post it up here soon. We're going to add a recipe section to our website as well.
KONASDAD ~> I'm unsure on the bird ID... still trying to figure that out myself (this is the first time I've seen them).
