Went to my 25th high school reunion last night. We had a small graduating class of 69, 29 showed up last night. It was a decent showing. You had to place a picture of yourself on your shirt from 25 yrs ago and your name to go with it.

Apparently, I was the one most unrecognized last night cause of my beard. I had class mates walking right by me without even blinking an eye, it was kinda weird.

The whole affair was very surreal. Some of my mates looked exactly the same, some didn't fare so well. grin Heehee

My wife went with me and got "the scoop" from all the girls, and Cindi and Ann, you will like this, they told my wife I was very nice to them, always pleasant, but a brat!!! Can you believe that horse nonesense??? grin

...anyway, yep, older than dirt.

Just wait until you get to your 35th and you start seeing how few of you are still able to make it.  Came back from a six week trip to the Rockies two days early to attend my 35th reunion only to find 23 out of 120 grads made it. Cry

Its bad enough going to a concert and wondering who all these old blokes are that look familiar but have grey hair.

its interesting to note, my generation does not see the need to dye its hair, but baseball caps make you bald by the tuime your 30 it seems!

I never did get the whole dye your hair, inject your lips thing. We live, we age, we all eventually die. Youth does not last. Am I missing something here?

That's my take exactly. I never wear make up, and rarely paint my toenails. grin

I can bet that you were very nice to them, you were probably scared of girls, don't doubt that!!  What teenaged boy isn't (awe come one, admit it guys, girls probably scared the daylights right out of ya).  But, now I wish that they would have told your Wife about how much of a brat you were and what antics you were up to.  I don't think that time has changed that one little bit, hee, hee  Smiley Smiley Smiley  Awesome day, awesome life, awesome world.  Cindi

My wife made me stop painting my toe nails too! She said they looked funny when we went to the swimming pool. Darn. 25th huh JP? I missed mine when my first wife an I were going through a divorce. Now were working on 38th. I wonder just how many of the old folks are still around. I certainly am not getting older (in my own mind). My old school sends out a newsletter every now and then looking for money through an alumni association. One of the articles in the last one was about a guy that graduated after me and went on to become a teacher at the same school and how he just retired after 30 years. I am still working, where did I go wrong?

Nope. Ok, maybe a lurl bit, in grammar school. There was this one girl, a real brick house, I was 11. She wanted to corrupt me!!! That came later! grin grin grin If it was legal I'd have a harem, there I go being bad again. Kiss Kiss Kiss

People actually go to those things? I don't even know if my class of '73 has ever had a reunion. Wouldn't go if they did.

My 25th was the only reunion I ever went to. I noticed that one former cheerleader still looked stunning, while the rest, like me, looked very "middle aged". Turns out she never had kids!!

My class of 74 has reunions, but I can't be bothered.  I didn't hang out with any of them when I was in high school, why would I start now?  Funny thing is I still look like I did in high school, people recognize me all the time, but I can't remember them at all.  They're all much older than me, anyways!  evil

There were very few mates that I hung out with. For the most part, my classmates were rich preppies. I really didn't fit in much. My Dad coached and taught. That was our ticket in to this high dollar private school. He made sacrifices for us to get the education we did. Before teaching there my Dad worked in the music business and put together concerts. We grew up around the likes of Fleetwood Mac (big crush on Stevie Nicks),Ted Nugent, Foreigner, Jonathan Winters, etc...
Now He works in the movie business and he works with movie stars, how bout that?

Anyway, I really enjoyed seeing these people I graduated with 25yrs ago, of course I guess things could have gone the other way.

My 25th is the only one I went to for both the schools I attended. One I was there for the first two years the second I was there for Jr. year and night school for Sr. year.  I knew more at the first school then second because I kept up with my friends from there(private) the second (public) I didn't hang out with, so I really didn't have friends. The second reunion was sort of boring because I didn't have anything in common with them.
My hubby on the other hand, has been to a reunion about every year since he left his school. We even spent the week end after our wedding at the reunion that year.
Don't ya think he now owes me a honey moon? huh without the bees and the friends evil

I did beat my own drum. Never tried to fit into any group. One thing for sure anybody that liked me, liked me for me, not something I pretended to be. Most of my friends were from a higher/lower grade or from the rival schools. I never tried to hang on to friends... we moved around a lot. I went to 11 or 12 different schools in my childhood.

At least I do know how to let go of stuff and people.

I went to two high schools.  The second for only my senior year.  I didn't go to my 10th reunion and could give two bleep if I see any of them ever again.  They're probably all in jail anyway.   tongue
