I did indeed.  If it went 100 overtimes deep, I would have stayed up for all of it.

Maybe. I definitely sense a momentum shift. What a great Finals this is turning out to be.

If nothing else, I am glad it's going to game 6.  I never expected the Pens to actually win the Cup from a dominate Red Wings team, but if they can make Detroit's lives miserable in the process, then I'm happy.

If the pens can win game six, I think they have a chance.
No one wants to play a game 7 those things can go either way

no doubt pens have struggled twice needing Redwings to play bad to win 2 games
but if they can get one at home they have a chance in game7

couldn't stay up myself. Stopped after 2nd OT. Couldn't bel;ieve redwings lost. they dominated for the vast majority of time. Homeice MIGHT be a disadvantage for pens b/c of nerves. Its easier to be loose when your away.

Maybe if it was a game where they could win the Cup.  I think that is probably what happened to Detroit actually.  I don't think the Pens will be too thrown off by being at home.

Let me know how it is boys and girls.  I'll be at game 3 of the Calder Cup Finals tonight.  I figured if the Pens lose, it's a game I don't want to watch anyway.  If they win, I'll get to see what I want to see on Saturday.  Here's hoping for Saturday.

GO PENS!

Thanks Keith
It was a good series.   Bettman is saying that all teams will play each other at least twice next year.  I am sad to see it end for another year.  Now I have to get going on that 6 month old honey du list

Congrats Danno...was a great series.

Funny thing happened last night.  On the way up to Wilkes-Barre we were being followed by a pickup.  Well, the pickup passed us and the guy in the passenger side pressed his head to his window, revealing his ugly Red Wings hat (I have a large magnetic Pens logo on the side of my Jeep).  I didn't notice but my wife and sister-in-law mentioned it.  So my wife had her Pens jersey with her and as I passed them back up she put the Pens logo up to her window.  The Wings fans were laughing at this and I thought maybe we had trumped their hat.  We continued up the highway for about 10 miles with no further incident until they came up to us again and gave us the thumbs up before going back behind us for a few more miles.  Once we got to our exit, I tapped on my breaks a few times to say "see-ya" to the fellow hockey faithful.  As we were slowing down to take the exit they came back past us, this time with a Wings jersey in the window.

I must say, this was a real civilized series and I must commend the fans from both sides for that.  If it was a Philly/Pittsburgh series...nuks would have been pointed towards each other...and even that wouldn't have been enough.

absent injury they will return. Need better defnese. Wings were so forceful on defense. Great series. I also think the league wants the pens to be a winner, which never hurts. I also want the league to review there rules about goalteneder interferance, which is bogus.

Now getting ready for real sports, NFL.
GO EAGLES. Just paid my season ticket bill!!! Lot less expensive than my brothers flyers season tickets.

Yes and no.  If Brooks Orpik doesn't return, which he probably won't, they will need a quality replacement.  I think with the addition of Hal Gill, they tightened up a lot.  As far as Detroit's defense goes, I don't think they were that forceful.  I think their efficiency on offense made it seem that way.  When I played hockey, we were put up against a team that played just like Detroit and had the experience of playing with each other for a long time to back it up.  They were impossible to beat.  They seemed like bees buzzing around everywhere and it always seemed like there was 6 or 7 of them to our 5.  Detroit's game 1 and 2 reminded me of that team.

I have mixed thoughts on this.  I don't think goaltender interference is right IF the goalie is in his crease.  I do think that if the goalie leaves the crease, he should be fair game.

Because nobody wants to go see them?   grin

I met Vince Papale at our most recent profit sharing.  Good guy.

Just look at shots on goal! Whether its fore checking or defense or buzz saw offense  doesn't matter. Pens were dominated most of the time. I am amzed at how few shots pens got and how many went in. They are skilled shooters, but need defense. Fleury played awesome and needs to in the future as well.

Obviously philadelphia athletes must make money after retiring along w/ you! What athlete doesn't profit share w/ you!
