The little comic strip word box below your forum name is for personal messages--the e-mail within the forum.  Is that what you mean?
If so just click on the word box and you can address messages same as any other e-mail.  The envelope will give you e-mail.  Until you have an e-mail envelope below your name just click on whome you want that has one.

if it's a member, don't try to send email.  try the personal message (PM).  that should go though.  some members don't even list email addresses for public use.
