Difficult Bees to Find

This one was the most difficult to find that I have ever had. The ceiling wouldn't give a heat signature. It was made of what looked like a laminated plaster board. Very thick and almost rang when you hit it. I drilled 11 holes in this ladies walls and ceiling to find the bees. They had come in on one corner of the living room and walked down the entire length of the room on the pressure band to the other corner of the room, roughly 15 feet. After finding them I was told by the owner that they had sealed up a hole just to the right of where I found them. As Homer Simpson Says "Dooooooohh!!!!!!"

I didn't post all the photos of the destruction. I'm ashamed to.

I don't know from your pics or story, but did they have bees in that spot before? From one of the pics, I can't tell if you had already removed some combs are I'm looking at remnants of comb that was removed once before.

So they told you after you had found the bees that they sealed the original access point?

I did one 3 yrs ago where an older gentleman kept sealing entrances. The bees were entering 18' from the original access point, traveling through the walls to get over to where the colony had originally established itself. A real pain in the arse.

JP...that's exactly what happened. They had sealed the original entrance and the bees found a new one and traveled to the original colony. It would have bee nice to know that was the original entrance prior to cutting. I most likely would have started at the other end.

The one photo with the remnant of comb was dead. In fact there was a start of a hornets nest in that area. This one had to be the most frustrating. I have making "swiss cheese" out of walls. It makes us look bad.
