Frantz, hee, hee, you will be assimilated.....ever watch Star Trek, Borg?  No worries, Frantz, wishing everyone to have that beautiful day is a wonderful thing to do, and if you wanna be a copy cat, you just go right ahead.  I am kidding, wish everyone in your life the best and beautiful day, we all deserve that and the more of these beautiful thoughts that float around in cyberspace, well, more power to the world!!!  Have that most beautifully awesome day, it is all good thing.  Cindi

Frantz, if you wanna sound like Cindi you need more cheery words in your sign off.
Try something like: Have that most wonderful, beautiful, sunshining, glorious, miraculous, breathtaking, flower growing, catfish jumping, warm fuzzy kind of day!

Perhaps you remember the late great Marty Robbins' song "El Paso"

I just found out today that he had a song about Feleena, the girl from that song. If this tale of Feleena's life and death doesn't jerk a tear from your eye you ain't got no heart

After leaving my last class of undergrad (years ago), I sat in my car nursing a beer and listened to the radio, thinking.  This played and I lost it.  Dunno why -- time, place, melody, words . . .

Thanks JP. It has been a long time since I heard that I like this 45RPM version

the way the turn table turns off at the end, kind of pointing out it is over... the end

I like just about any version to this song, and liked the 45 sound, way cool!!!

Ahhhh, the days of rcords and turn tables. My Dad used to put together concerts for Beaver productions in the seventies and my sis and I couldn't wait to see what album He brought home next! They all said promotional copy, not for sale. Those were the days!

Chris Jones "Hero in Harlan". This was originally recorded by Tom T. Hall and is about the loss that everyday Americans feel in war.  I suppose this would apply equally to the people of any country which experiences war. It is about a family in Harlan, KY who is bringing their brother home to be burried in their home town.  The boy was young, average, and set off to save the world after being turned down for a job in the local mine. He went off to war, as many of our soldiers do, as a young, idealistic and dedicated man but wound up giving his life for us all.  I tear up when I hear it because I realize how many young men and women hear the call and answer it with their lives.  There are still many more who see thier friends die, their bodies broken and their spirits tried. Both are heros to me, and I think often how proud I am of the heros among us who serve and return quietly to their lives. I can only imagine the battle that rages within them every day to continue their lives without forgetting where they've been and those who have fallen.  I never served in military and was stopped from doing so due to my knee injuries, but I always have looked up to those that did and do. Thanks to any of you who fit that description.
Brian
