Question: How Many hives do you currently have in your yard?
I don't have any, but I'm learning a whole lot about beekeeping here - 0 (0%)
I have ordered my first package or nuc this season - 3 (10%)
I have had bees but no longer do - but I still love the hobby - 0 (0%)
I have 1 to 2 hives total - 11 (36.7%)
I have 2 to 5 hives total - 12 (40%)
I have 5 to 10 hives total - 1 (3.3%)
I have more than 10 hives total - 3 (10%)
I keep bees elsewhere than my own property - 0 (0%)
I don't have bees but I assist someone who does - 0 (0%)
I am retired from beekeeping but was very active at one time - 0 (0%)

Although we use the words BACKYARD BEEKEEPER a lot around the forum, you'd be surprized at how many hoves many of the members tend in their yard.

By knowing how many colonies we have, we better understand the magnitude of how parasites, equipment costs, medications, extracting techniques and other common functions of beekeeping is done and to how much effort is put into their hobby.
