Like to see that state's attorney get re-elected after even trying to make a case. Maybe you could prosecute her boyfriend for not calling someone 51 weeks sooner.

But you have to admit the boyfriend was dedicated, committed, loyal, understanding. If it were me she would have been getting hungry the first day. He kept her washed and clothed I am assuming. Tending to her every need. Wonder what she did for entertainment? Wonder if there were two bathrooms

1. "There are two things the government does quickly, take your moeny and lock you up." "Everything else, they take their time."
2. Dont trust newspapers for all the info, accurate info etc.
3. Real life is always better than fiction(how can you beat this story)

***shiver**** I'm sort of a cootie-phobe just thinking of the situation gives me the heebie-jeebies!! **ooohhhewww***Sad & strange that no one missed her, no visitors for that long or someone would have noticed the smell?? How lonely for them. Obviously both are not all there. If he gets charged, who will take care of her once she is physically better?? Oh yes where was my head..., it will be all of our taxes that pay for everything..lawyers, trial, jail...a better idea would be for them to both get mental care! Have a great evening, new LOST!

A cop, or ex-cop in my case, would believe a story like that in a minute. There are people who have an intense fear of leaving their house, this is just a more savere case of that. The guys problem, being too obliging of his girl friends illness, but that does not make what he did a crime. The way I see it the only law that could apply here is reckless disregard.

There was an expanded story on this in the paper last night. She did eat, shower, change her clothes, etc. up until about a month ago, that's why he got concerned - or more concerned than he already was, he knew this was nuts, but didn't know what to do about it. They were close, but did everything (!!) in the bathroom, I guess, because she just wouldn't come out. I don't see anything criminal here at all, just two incredibly sad people. Now they'll put them through the legal wringer because we need to blame something on someone, and someone has to pay the price for their 'crime'

"I looked at the statutes and spoke to the attorney general's office," he said. "This was a very unusual set of circumstances, and this is the law that most closely applied to the situation."
That means there isn't a law that directly applies but this kind of a catch all statute so they're going to float a balloon and see what a jury says. This is referred to as "there ought to be a law" justice. We'll see if this one works and if not we'll pass a new law.

But if they find that the girl is mentally competent and she gets on the stand and testifies that she was doing what she wanted to do and the boyfriend was doing her bidding then they would have to drop the charges against him. And the way people are these days they will probably find something to charge her with then.
Just a waste of the courts time and tax payers money.

You see your honor, its like this, my boyfriend is my sex slave, he is at my beck and call. My thing is the bathroom, my Ma, she said, a woman's place is in the bathroom, and so what's the big deal? Besides, my boyfriend treats me good enough, brings me my star magazine, keeps the tissue roll well stocked. I'm never really hurtin' for nothin', its a good life, just in the bathroom. And I get to see Springer every day at 3:30. Can I please go back to my bathroom, now? If I hurry back, I can make it in time for the best of Springer, heard they got a segment in there about people who are afraid of soap, can you believe that? Weirdos!!! ...JP
