Is this the same white stuff that came through here? A lot of it fell but it was gone from the ground long before it quit falling.

bassman1977 ,

I an originally from PA.  Born and raised 15 miles west of Pittsburgh, I know what a real winter is all about.  My in-laws are here and they think this is terrible.  LOL.

That's awesome.  Pittsburgh is like my second home.  Go Penguins!  I grew up in Johnstown but live in Danville now (Central PA...Smallville, USA).  I understand your in-laws' grief.  I wouldn't want to see snow down that way either.

Snow below the Mason-Dixon Line:

Schools...closed

Local, state and federal government....closed

Grocery stores...cleaned out

1 Snowflake on the highway...traffic jam for miles due to a 30 car pile up caused by someone who slid on said snowflake.

grin grin grin grin grin grin   Just pokin' fun.  I am envious.

You might be pokin fun,  but it is true.  More than 3 snowflakes and the world comes to a screeching halt.

http://geography.about.com/od/politicalgeography/a/masondixon.htm

Alhough the Mason-Dixon line is most commonly associated with the division between the northern and southern (free and slave, respectively) states during the 1800s and American Civil War-era, the line was delineated in the mid-1700s to settle a property dispute. The two surveyors who mapped the line, Charles Mason and Jeremiah Dixon, will always be known for their famous boundary.

JP, that was some very interesting reading.  Took me to the times of long ago in my mind's eye.  Must have been some very very hostile natives that prevented further development of the surveying for the finishing of the Mason-Dixon line, interesting stuff, thanks.  Have a great and wonderful day, Cindi
