Folks the "What's Blooming" map now charts GDD's for each zipcode a bloom has been entered for GDD's are a running total of how far above 50F the daily high is so if it got up to 60F today the GDD's would increase by 10 this let's you see how the weather progresses as spring goes along and compare to past years http://www.drobbins.net/bee%27s/blooms.htmlEnjoy Dave

I would think that what's on the charts now could be put on a page called " History" and new items as in "this year" be posted on the present page. Been watching for months now and still no updated information. Seems to me that people will not use it if there is the "same old stuff" there. Thats the reason the forums are so helpfull, things change by the second.

I wasn't able to load the page either. One of my hives is near a wetlands area and the button bushes are really coming into bloom and are thick with bees. My zip is: 46507

YIKES!! Hi Folks I had a harddrive failure back in June and once I got things put back together the URL for the app changed and didn't match what's posted in the original post of this thread. I fixed it and will enter the data people have posted here as soon as I get to it The new URL is http://www.drobbins.net/bees/blooms.htmlThe old one will still work too Sorry bout that Dave

I am here in 30062, I always am wondering where my bees are going and what they are working. I rarely see them working anything in my yard and not even in the garden. Yesterday I was again watching my bees come back to the hives with pollen on their legs. Is there any way to tell where they are going and track them? Also, I was wondering if local pollen count would be something a beekeeper could use gauge nectar flows? It seems to be documented very well because of people with allergies. The site listed below is very detailed. http://www.pollen.com/allergy-weather-forecast.asp

Hey there... I LOVE this idea; it'll someday make things much easier to plan your hives. especially for newbees like me.
I'm in 95558 on the Lost Coast of California
our spring bloom is really nice right now after a good five day sunshine. willows and Bay/Laurel are both blooming right now. in the higher elevations where some of my friends keep bees manzanita is getting started. Please add me to your database, I'd love to stay active and add things as they bloom.

I must still bee missing something. I see no up dates for 2010 in the charts. It's all old stuff from last year and years past.
