Going to a Birthday Party
« on: February 21, 2008, 10:44:03 AM »
well fixing to leave and drive to McComb Mississippi for my wife's Grandmothers 100th Birthday party, she will be 100 Saturday, my wife's grandfather passed 5 years ago at the age of 97, they were married 76 years when he passed, both have always lived at home and in good health for their age, he could cut firewood most of the day when a aneurysm ended his life for him, my wife's grandmother is in good health but her eye sight isn't to good anymore. 100 years old, hope I make it to 60 :) . well just thought I would mention it because how many people does anyone ever see turn 100 years old....... later all!!!!

Thats amazing. There was a news article last week where a couple is celebrating their 85 anny. He is 102, she 99. She was very alert and with-it as well. Congrats for you and them. Amazing. My father in law is 85 this year and still drives. He drives well too! He has been retired longer than I have worked as an adult. Children today can easily expect to reach over 100.

Ted, oh isn't that wonderful, such a nice thought when one hears of people that are so aged, and I bet they would have stories to tell of days gone past, so many years ago, when they were the young folk.  That is wonderful and beautiful.  Have a great and wonderful trip, and a good day.  Cindi

G'day Ted.Please wish your grand-mother-in-law a great birthday from all in Australia. A great milestone and hopefully a lot of those marvellous genes will be passed onto your family.
I had a great-grand-mum who lived to 103 and these traits were passed onto my grand-father who lived to close to 90 years and my mother who lived to 93 before being taken out by pancreatic cancer.
We all hope that your family has a very happy celebration.
Nothing wrong with making 60 Ted, 70 is even better.
