Useing Smoker is it Organic Beekeeping ?

I'm kind of like Cindy.My bees that are Feral out perform the store bought Bees
My one wild hive is going on 5 years now it is natural and small cell.My bees from Arizona are going gang busters this year also these bees are from Dee Lusby.The Arizona bees are a little aggressive but with good beekeeping practise ok .I'm setting out swarm traps Sunday I love those wild Bees.I'm hopeing to get som Queens from Michael Bush this August .I haven't trated for anything since 2000

I no longer use a smoker, partly on the grounds that I detest breathing in any kind of smoke since I gave up the cancer sticks 4 years ago, and partly because I see no need for it, and partly because what little control I need can be achieved using a mist spray containing water and organic cider vinegar.

This is what I have done with my old smoker:

I replaced the bellows with an air bed inflator - half fill with powdered sugar, press button and point upwards through the floor mesh. Treat a whole TBH for varroa in less than 10 seconds, without even taking the lid off.

I tell ya you can take this organic thing to the nth degree, really, what next, the bottling jars have to be certified organic too, and the lids, and your extractor, etc... etc... etc... No offense to you or your concerns bee bop.

Things that may not pass the organic test in the future:

Plastic bottling, due to the new research about chemicals in plastics.
Plastic foundation and frames, for the same reasons.

Much of this depends on what the current research about the potential harm of plasticizers turns up, but one of the things that I make sure to do when I am looking for honey is a glass jar.

I lost the site, and I realize by the date of the post that you may have already found your answer. having said that, I read (and am interested in trying) smoking with different natural substances to treat for pests (creosote, juniper, cedar) I have a ton to learn - especially about more organic and natural keeping methods - But I'm looking forward to trying the cedar during regular inspections for mite treatments.
(theres a smoke treating regimen during off-flow, and some sites mentioned using it during flow ) I'm sorry but I forgot to save them before I closed, but a search may produce some answers.
