450 lbs of honey?

Someone needs to put those bees in a hive box.

Sincerely,
Brendhan

Hey I know. Let's do a lot of banging and make them really mad.

Also after seeing that, I will stick with my circular saw.

Now I got to go find Harris County  rolleyes

Couldn't load the video, tried and re-tried. Sounds like that house needs to be condemned.

Why didn't they smoke them?? And why did they say the honey smelled bad?? Maybe it was the house that smelled bad. It was very crude and irresponsible. Why did they not call a beekeeper??? I felt so sad for the bees.

In the article it mentioned dead animals found in the house. That is where the smell came from. These were pest control people. just out to make a buck.

I didn't watch the video, but in my experience, honey that is from old combs with pollen will sometimes smell funky.  Dead animals would smell worse, though.

didn't those bees seem pretty aggressive right from the start? just pulling off a board shouldn't have been enough to have them pinging and stinging?   not sure i'd have tried to take them home!

They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

They started the banging right from the start. And boards popping sure doesn't help.

kathy, for some reason I could't get the video to load but to respond to your question, just pulling boards off is indeed enough to get a hive riled up. A lot of time you will have comb that is attached to the boards, and when you pull them off, you are breaking comb, which the bees do not like. Plus in my experience, older hives, say 3 yrs or older can be a bit testy. Seems the longer they've been there the more defensive they can be.

If you don't smoke bees, pulling off boards is more than enough to upset them. If some of the comb breaks when you pull it off you can be sure they will be upset.

Brendhan
