Just wanted everyone to know that the Red Sox are leading the Mariners 7-2 in the top of the 7th at Midnight.  Yesterday the M's won.

This is the Year!  I believe!  There is no curse of the Bambino!

13-2.   Manny just hit a grand-slam.   40 for the year so far.    :D

I love this team, some will call me crazy, a diehard, but you gotta have hope.

In 1918 the Boston Red Sox had won another World Series making it their 5th. The Red Sox were at the time considered the best team in baseball ever. One of the stars of the Red Sox was a young pitcher by the name of George Herman Ruth. During the 1920 season the owner of the Sox needed a little extra cash to finance his girlfriends play called "No, No Nanette". To raise the money Frazee sold Ruth to the New York Yankees for $100,000 dollars and a loan collateralized by Fenway Park. Since Ruth was traded to the Yankees, they have gone on to win 26 World Series Titles. The Red Sox on the other hand, have been to four World Series, losing each in game seven.

Not only did they lose The Babe, the Yankees also "owned" fenway as it was collateral on a loan.

I'm a Yankee fan from when I could speak. I went to my first game when I was about six.

It only matter what it looks like at the end.

Yankees 27  championships?

Red Sox 6 championships?

Cubbies - I don't know 4. maybe?

I think a Cubbie or Red Sox championship is much more rare and therefore  better.

i'm going to tonight's Red Sox vs Tampa Bay game.     :P

Then after this, it's time for Red Sox vs. Yankees.

The series could go either way.

3 -0 Sox ;  3 - 0 Yanks;

As long as the sox take 2 out of 3 I'll be happy.

1 out of 3; not so happy;

0 for 3 ; they become a bunch of bums again

3 and 0!  WOW!

Ya got 1 of 3
But the other 2 were blowouts.
Looking foward to next weekend and seeing what happens at the Green Monster. This was a brilliant piece of scheduling.

I love baseball, even on a beekeeping forum. I don't think the Yankees have the pitching to win this year. The Cubs have the best overall pitching, but have had too many injuries. Hopefully they are getting healthy at the right time. GO CUBS!!!!! Cubs also lead the majors in Home runs, I believe. Which ever team between Red Sox and Cubs have hot hitters during October should go far. But lets not forget those redbirds that are 14 games ahead of my Cubbies. The Cardinals have a heck of a team this year, but I still like the Cubs pitchers in a short series against anyone. Hey Boston, what happened to Pedro the other day? OK, hows this. Nomar Garciapara gets the game winning hit against Boston in game 7 of the world series. It could happen.

Good Series with Yanks and Red Sox this coming weekend.  Sox have to take all 3 if they have any chance of taking the division.   After last weekend, it was such a disapointment.   Right now the yearly series is 9 games - 7 games, Sox over Yankees, but if the SOX don't win all 3 people will think it's over.

I like what Denis Leary says,  "I know they won't win!  I just hang aroung to see how they will let me down every year."

I saw a shirt on a Red Sox fan last wee, it said
"Every team is bound to have a bad century!"

Go Sox!

Nomar is a great player, and we are glad to have him in a Cubs uniform- but comparing him to the Babe is a bit of a stretch. The Babe was bigger, so his curse should be bigger. The curse of the nomimo or whatever, should only last a few years.
