Here is a program I used to recover photos on a camera card I deleted before transferring to my hard drive.
It's free and easy to use!

Another great application is
TestDisk
. I used this when Windows XP told me that my drive needed repairing and started working (without my approval).
When it was done I saw my nicely formatted drive, the same drive that once contained all of my pictures and music (and my most recent backup wasn't that recent).
This program does wonders!
