Well along with my conversion into redneckdoom. I am also starting my trip injto geezerdom.
Today I hit 40
The big 4-0
As of now there are new rules.
I will yell at kids to get off of my lawn
If my wife is saying something I really don't care about I can pretend my hearing is going.
If I am up all night I better be getting paid for it.
It is no longer my job to save the universe I am to old. Let the young ones with all the energy do that.
I have a well established record. I no longer need to prove myself to anyone.
Which directly leads to, Why, Yes, I am always right you little punk and you would be wise to listen to this old man.
Yes, even at 40 I expect the 18-29 female age group to look at me as if though I am hot stuff. Fake it if you have to, you won't be the first and certainly not the last.
No, I do not have kids. It is a sign that I was wise at a young age and have gotten even wiser as I have gotten older.
No, I did not age gracefully like a fine wine but if you have a bottle I will drink it with you.
Yes, I know what makes up the ingredients of a hot dog. No, I don't care, pass the ketchup.
I am legally entitled to nap if I want to in the afternoon.
Women aren't always right. But I will act like they are so as to avoid the ramifications.
Call me sir and this old geezer will kick your arse.
I can make up new rules anytime I want.
Sincerely, Brendhan

40 is a tough age for men, my mother tells me. I was a bit floored by 30, but 40 {shrug} Now 50, that was a biggy for me. Half a century. Hopefully I can make it healthy to the century mark. Brendhan, I forgot - here's your cake! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Wish I could see 40 again, but not all that came with it from then till 10 yrs ago. Why? I stayed with the bottle almost as long as you are old. Not good for that time but good for the passed 11 years I haven,t been there and done that. doak

Doak, you should be proud of yourself, I know it isn't easy. Now think how much life you've got to live in the moment, enjoying or enduring everything. Good for you!

Hope you had a good one Brendhan, you old fart! I'll be 43 in December, age doesn't mean much any more, I just take it one day at a time, but I can't do some of the things I could 10yrs ago. Some people have such hangups about age, what's the big whoop, anyway H.B. you old hag!

Good grief..how do all you blue-hairs even get up in the morning??? (I know, my dad always tells me...one leg at a time...or is that his pants???) Since I'm only 32 you all seem impossibly old!!! My 5 kids all think I am already. My 8 year old was asking about the wars with the Indians when I was young.... Happy Birthday, sir! Its all downhill from here!

Brendhan, well, dear old man, happy, happy birthday. You ain't seen nothin' yet!!!!! I turned 55 on the first of this month, my youngest grandson turned 8 on that very day and my oldest grandson turned 13 on the 3rd, we all had some happy birthday celebrations. I was a lucky woman to have my grandsons born so close to me. Time means nothing to me, I am the same I was 20 years ago, maybe wiser, maybe not, maybe older looking, maybe not, feeling older, nope!!!!! As that old song goes, 'it's just another day". Hope you enjoyed your birthday Brendhan, I bet the girls still think you're hot!!!! Have a wonderful day, best of our great life. Cindi

Cindi, I'm sorry I missed your birthday! It's the same as my sister's, but she's still way south of 50.

JP, thank you for your kind words. Yep, I hid my birthday, I am not a person that likes too much attention to be dealt to me. I do not like to be in the limelight even one tiny little bit, so to tell other's of this day (until afterwards, like I did) would cause attention to be brought to me. I don't like that. I am Libra, balancer of life, harmony, a quiet soul. Thank you all for your birthday wishes to me, in the afterwards, it is OK to have this lovely bit of attention, I do love that. You all make my day, every day, here on this forum, a beautiful place to spend some time, among friendly and caring friends, helping each other in our quest to keep our bees healthy, and to make a little of that golden substance for our own lives, too. JP, here we go!!!! Have a wonderful day, love our life we're livin', and I hope these little words make this world just a little happier place. Great wishes for us all. Cindi Brendhan, now that you are 40, how much weight did you gain went you and your lovely wife went for dinner and drinks!!!! :)C.
