Not sure if this will help you, but when I want to change the size of my text, I go up to the toolbar. Click on "View", then scroll down to text size and choose the size I want. I guess this all depends on your computer and set up, etc.
Hope this works for you, or else you will get better help soon.

If you hold the control key and scroll your mouse will it will change the size of everything in the window you have open. If you can't get back to where you want, close the window and reopen,it will go back to default size.
