An article in the paper today, from the US, place escapes me but it doenst matter.

A bloke whose surname is Udink has had his families personal plates revoked. Udink1, Udink2 etc as they may be offensive to Vietnamese.

God help us all.

i don't remember if i told you guys about the "flip" chart?  those big tablets of paper on an easel that are used in classes?  in red cross classes we can no longer call them a flip chart because it might offend Filipinos.
.....The greatest changes occur in their country without their cooperation. They are not even aware of precisely what has taken place. They suspect it; they have heard of the event by chance. More than that, they are unconcerned with the fortunes of their village, the safety of their streets, the fate of their church and its vestry. They think that such things have nothing to do with them, that they belong to a powerful stranger called “the government.” They enjoy these goods as tenants, without a sense of ownership, and never give a thought to how they might be improved.....

What's a "dink"?  From Wiki:

D.I.N.K: Dual Income No Kids, a financial term used for couples with no kids.
A 'jerk' or 'goof'
A euphemism for being delinquent on training.
A hypocorism for the given name Dennis.
A term used to mean "Mess With" as in "I'm going to dink with that until it works". Along similar lines, in computer science, to increment or decrement a counter. "In counting from 4 to 6, it dinks the counter two times".
An onomatopoeia for the sound when a golf ball goes in the hole.
A ride given to someone on a pushbike;
A word in beach volleyball lingo referring to a soft attacking shot travelling in an arc at low velocity. A dink in this context is usually strategically directed away from the reach of the blocker and the non-blocking defender. A beach volleyball dink is also known as a 'roll-shot'.
To stare at another person intently with sexual desire.
A male organ.
geordie term that means bad, terrible like "that game is proper dink"
Military slang for a recruit in training, "Desperately In Need of Knowledge"

I may be wrong but jesus comes from the same line as abraham so the muslims do belive jesus was a great prophet but not the mesiah.

Gosh, I went to school with a kid named Eddy Krappsukker--a hungarian name if I remember right.  The family still lives in Darrington, Wa.

Then there's another classmate: Vernon Horsehogger.

And Mike Upyers has no chance at all.

I'm sure we can all come up with an example of how ludicrous this is.

Policitcally correct needs to be ignoredor ridiculed into extinction.

When I was a kid my 5th grade teacher said, "Bray, ain't that what a donkey says?"
"Any jackass knows that," I replied.
I thought that was a good way to handle it--it made the teacher the ultimute butt of his own joke and let him know he was being offensive.

A name is a name just because it might mean something different is another language still makes it stupid to get uptight about.

Chi in Thai means yes, in Turkish it means Tea.   Chi tea is a redundency.
In Japanese Tanuki means raccoon,  in English slang it means some else entirely.
Life is a school.  What have you learned?   :brian:      The greatest danger to our society is apathy, vote in every election!
