After generations of feeding deer, they learn to asociate humans as something good. I have an aunt & uncle in Ms. that have been feeding the deer for 4 yrs now. There is very little hunting pressure if any where they live. Slowly, but surely the deer have become accustomed to my aunt's daily feedings. The mature bucks are the leary ones. They have just started to come around this past winter, and now she sees them on a regular basis. Just yesterday, she called to tell me she had four bucks and 2 does feeding right in front of the house. I went to visit about 3 months ago and one evening 9 does came out to eat. They are beautiful animals, fun to watch, and taste good too!
