Well hes here. Infact the TV was interrupted last night to show Airforce One landing. An unprecedented piece of TV theatrics which was absurd.

I wont go into politics, just tell you whats going on.

He is in Sydney for the APEC meeting. The whole exercise is costing taxpayers about 1 billion Aussie dollars, a huge waste of money.

Half of Sydney has been caged in, not unlike the old wrestling matches of the 70s. Barbed wire, barricades, fences, concrete blocks. Snipers, commandos, SWAT teams, BlackHawks, F18s and even some footage of a sniper in a helicopter. I dunno how good a shot he thinks he is, but hes kidding himself!

George was driven the 100 yards to his first meeting in a cavalcade of cars, but brave man that he is, walked back.

He took a bit of a cruise on the Harbour and up a river, had lunch with 100 defence force people to thank them for their commitment to the war on terror, had a nice feed, listened to a country band and gave our PM another nice rap, then went back to his hotel no doubt to wonder why the hell he is here.

No protesters in sight, just a couple of strategically placed fake tourists that shook hands with him. No doubt they were a couple of coppers in civvies.

There endeth day one.

nah, he's not so bad.  especially when you consider the person that was running against him.  if you keep bush, cheney gets to be prez. cheney, with nothing to lose and not a care in the world, can take iran out in a few bombing raids.  that ought to put pause to what n korea and syria are up to.

Blimey, how you could say I dont like him after that very mild post is beyond me rolleyes

Yesterday GW also went mountain bike riding which he seemed to enjoy.

Today was fun. We have a local TV show called "The chasers war on everything" its a comedy where nothing is sacred. They do sketches, satire and often abmbush politicians press conferences etc. I dont know what I could compare it too.

So today they get a few black Hummers and motorcycle outriders, they equipped all of em with Canadian flags. They created a fake APEC motorcade, were waved through a few intersections and then pulled up outside GWs hotel.

Guess what? Out popped Osama Bin Laden!

It was absolutely priceless and no doubt their most daring stunt to date.

All were quickly arrested unfortunately! They were lucky they wernt shot, but thats the chasers for ya.

Someone is gunna get their butt kicked for sure over this alarming security breach.

The fact that the Canadian President is not here, nor anyone from Canada makes it all the more funny or tragic depending on where you stand.

Last night GW had a very fiery press conference, where he was very aggressive toward reporters, more so than I have seen him at home by a long way.

Today GWB met our opposition leader Kevin Rudd, who told GWB that if he is elected we are out of Iraq by June next year. We will however stay in Afghanistan for the long haul.

GWB did some sightseeing and went to the Maritime Museum, looked at some Aboriginal art, then had a rest.

Tonight he will no doubt go out for tea, with the US Embassy people I reckon. Probably go to the pokies at a local RSL.

There endeth day 2.

Cheney has no interest in the presidency.  That's well known.  Bush has his head up his you know what on just about everything, he's a globalist and certainly no Conservative.  But he does understand Islamic Fascism, which I'm afraid most people on this planet do not.  I'm afraid it will take something much worse than 9/11 to wake them up.  As long as most people have their cell phones and minivans, they are happy.  The fact that that wake up call hasn't come in the US isn't for lack of the bad guys trying.  Someone, somewhere is doing something right in having protected us thus far, and it sure isn't the Democrats in congress, that's for sure.

The border is open to the south and the Islamic Fascists are pouring into Brazil and changing their names to Latin ones.  Can you look at a Brazilian and an Arab side by side and tell the difference?  It's just a matter of time till something goes boom up here.  Then you will wake up quick.  But then you might say, "well we provoked them with Iraq" Well tell me what we were doing to provoke them before Iraq, before 9/11?  We were enforcing a ceasefire that Hussien agreed to and broke on almost a daily basis.  The wake up call is coming.

As for Iran, Amehdinijahd say almost monthly that Israel needs to be pushed into the sea.  So if it's ok with you that he'd like to destroy the only democracy in that part of the world, laugh it up for now.  If it's ok with you that he says the Holocaust never happened and that it's a creation of the Jews so they can justify their "aggression".

If you think that Iran and Syria aren't the mother of all Global state sponsored terrorism, and that Iran having Nucs does not bother you just a bit, the wake up is coming.

I hate to put a political slant on what started as a very innocuous post, but somebody went there first...  lol

mklangelo, you got it exactly right.

if people would only take the time to hear what they are being told, it would scare the bloody pants off them.  you have millions of people whose stated goal is the destruction of israel and the US.  in addition, those millions of people embrace death in the cause, as a sure way to their salvation.  we need only look at history to see what is coming.  we need only listen to their words....they have told us their plan.

I-pods and American Idol.  Rampant, mindless consumerism... Buy to be Happy.  Madison Avenue tries relentlessly to  keep our minds numb.  It's working. 1/5th of Americans can't even find their own country on a map for God's sake.  Were screwed. Bigtime.

I want to see GWB on one of those INTERNET STAPLES - the Japenese TV GAME SHOWS, you know the cool ones where Bush would dress up as a dragon and then try to run across 12 spinning logs 10 feet about water and make it to the chopping hoop on the opposite end - lol. How come he never goes there??

If he CAN'T do something WONDERFUL while in office, he might as well be known for stupid things he does - and no I'm not talking about 30+ minutes he did nothing but humor 6 year olds as the Twin Towers were attacked - no-one would ever see that as a possibility - some of history you can't make up. We've sadly been sold this Right Winged Christian Governing Branch overseeing a openly Liberal, but generally in the Middle.

Everyone on the Republican side wants to be Ronald Reagan - except on the really tough issues - lol. Both Hillary and Obama refuse to spend campaigne money in states voting EARLY this year - on what is called Super Tuesday. My state New Jersey is voting on Super Tuesday for the first time this year - finally, there will be more than 2 candidates in each PArty - New Jersey NORMALLY doesn't vote in our Primary until The First Fully Tuesday week in June. by then all the campagne money is going to the winners of all the major campages - THREE MONTHS EARLIER. I really feel like my Primary Vote will accually count for the first time in my life - about time.

No Mick, GWB has shown us all he can walk and even jog - I hear  he plays a mean air guitar too, still don't make him a great President, he's barely in the top 4 of my voting life. Now I know why they put God Bless America on all our money - it's to remind us each day that we might not have a great Leadership Party today, but time marches on and on and on...

Someday I know our Country will once again have a truely great President - I hope to see it again in my lifetime, ergo God Bless America. I don't care from which party either, we need a President that can accomplish GREAT THINGS in 8 years and put the US back on Earth's Applause Meter, frankly you don't have to go far the see people who believe we are bullies, forcing Democracy as I like to say.

Kathy:

That is some scarey (but brutally true) thinking about those who HATE the US and Israel - and the radical Anti-American thinking is growing world wide, I think our current position in this war has created GENERATIONS of Anti-US terrorists.

I hear every evening on the news of ONLINE RECURUITMENT SITES explaining the Need to Erradicate us. It is scary stuff indeed. I'm hoping that we come out looking, feeling and smelling cleaner in the next President's Term(s) We really need that, hate for the US is spreading like fire in parts of the world, that is where we are at - if things are predestined than you may as well do nothing - if you create or alter you own destination, then it isn't too late. Some say, we are only delaying the inevitable - I wouldn't bet against that either.

It is indeed sad that you blame the world's troubles on your own country and in particular on one man.  Sad indeed.  Just what the hell was Bush doing wrong when those airplanes hit the world trade center?  Breathing?  Your Liberal Guilt is showing through loud and clear.  America isn't the problem in the world, it's the solution. If you think the United Nations is the solution, I feel sorrier for you yet.  That place is run by a bunch of Anti-Semite Dictators.  Any organization that would place Libya at the head of the Human Rights counsel is a joke in every respect.  If you think not, perhaps a few years elsewhere would change your mind, just as a reality check.

For all our faults, America has run economic circles around countries that have been on earth thousands of years before us.  Why do you think that is?  Luck?  No.  Freedom is why.  You can come to this country and be what you want to be.  I can move to Germany or Japan and live there for the rest of my life and I'll never be German or Japanese.  But any of those people can come here and become Americans.  Think about that the next time you want to blame the worlds problems on the country that has given you your opportunities. And when you realize that just one man isn't the cure of the cause of any problems, you begin to understand the way the world works.

beemaster, the problem is that most people think our problems with radical islam started on 9/11 and all we have done is make it worse.  in fact, the worlds problems with radical islam started in the '20's and our problems started in the 70's.  the idea that confronting bad guys creates bad guys is a left wing media lie.  the flip side to that argument is that we should go back to the way things were before and stick our heads in the sand and hope they go away.

the idea that going into iraq creates more radicals is also bogus.  look back over history.  they have used any excuse to act.  they didn't like arab governments, so they tried to overthrow them.  they don't like israel, so they attack.  they use palestinians as an excuse.   they use lebanon as an excuse.  they use 'poor treatment' in countries to which they run, as an excuse. now they use iraq as an excuse....just as they do, and would have continued, to use afghanistan as an excuse.

before you can understand any of this, you have to understand the goal. the goal is a world without jews or christians or moderate muslims.  those left living under sharia law or as slaves to islam.  this is what they tell us.  we only need to hear.

if bush has done one great thing, it is to recognize and believe the threat.  it does not matter where we are....iraq, afghanistan, or sitting at home.  they will attack us.  you pay the military to fight for you.  if we draw out the enemy and fight them in iraq, that's what we are for.  if it costs money, it is still a bargain if the war stays out of your backyard.

I am not saying this applies to anyone here!

A little thought tweaked through my mind the other day.  I was thinking about how the 'extreme islamists' (I use little quotes because I don't think they're all that extreme in their own religion) hate Americans more than they love their own children.  And then I thought about the Bush haters.  They hate Bush more than they love this country.  The parallel is frightening.

I am not saying this applies to anyone here!

Well Friday he had a day off it seems, no comments on what he was doing. Maybe he was having sneaky meetings with Putin or the Chinese President? Then again maybe he went mountain bike riding again.

Interesting that when he took off mountain bike riding the other day, it was only a two car convoy, no one knew it was him. Thats the way to do it!

Yesterday he attended the opening of APEC and looked very bored. He had a nice dinner at the Opera House, watched the fireworks display and then it was onto Airforce One and outta here.

Apec runs for a week, but one day was enough for him! I dont blame him, I wouldnt waste my time with all those third world countries grandstanding either.
