Frame Grips

Not sure if this is where I should be posting, but I need advice on frame grips.  I tried them once and dropped a frame of bees because the grip did not grip. 

Can anyone recommend really good frame grips, as I would like to try this again. I am squishing to many bees trying to get that first frame out of the super.

I really like the cast frame grips I got from brushy mountain.  They fit my hand well, are comfortable to use and seem to grip the frames really well with a hook that grabs around the bottom edge of the top bar.

I have this one. I use only wooden frames and this digs into the wood. No slipping.

As far as I'm concerned,  don't waste your money on any other type of grip than one like this.  There is no better grip for wooden frames.



I get mine from Kelley, but Brushy Mountain sells them also.


It doesn't work with Pierco plastic frames.  It works fine with HSC though.

I use the ones from dadant and only use them to get the first frame free and then use just the hive tool and hands. They also dont work on the plastic frames very well.  Just remember that you have to keep pressure on the handle so the frame doesn't slip out.

This is the one I use also. I'm drifting away from it because using my hands seem to be easyer on the bees and myself.

I agree with the hands on after prying out with the hive tool.A little baby powder on the hands seems to distract the bees from your hands.Unless you pinch one under your finger

I have the cast ones.  I hardly ever use them but they work the best.
